Google’s Women Techmakers program provides visibility, community, and resources for women in technology. For the past three years the Women Techmakers team has convened over 200 global events across 52 countries to drive visibility, community, and resources for women in technology in honour of International Women’s Day (IWD).
Developer Circles from Facebook is a global network of local communities created by developers, for developers. Developer Circles Nairobi is launching the Women’s Circle, a place where women developers can come together to Connect, Collaborate and Learn from each other.

There seems to be a lot of misconceptions about being a programmer, largely because
there is a very common stereotype of the “typical” programmer - male, white, and
oftentimes rather antisocial! So in my latest video, I talk about some of these
misconceptions and show that you don’t have to fit the stereotype to be a programmer!
